Where my high achieving former athletes at??
If new year season has you stressed because you don’t feel like you did enough and don’t feel prepared to conquer the new year MAKE SOME NO-OISEE!!! Ques blowhorn ber ber ber berrrrrr
For many, this time of reflection and preparation brings anxiety. The urgency to get as much done before December 31st mixed with figuring out how you’re going to relaunch yourself to the world is stressful, taxing, and… unnecessary. The pressure we place on ourselves likely comes from our time playing sports. There's this unspoken expectation to perform in every area of our lives and if one area is “sub par” to our own standards we feel the need to make radical and immediate change. Which is again, unnecessary.
Here at Sportswomen, we strive to experience a full life and healthy growth on our own terms. In the spirit of newness let’s enter into this year giving ourselves grace, playing the game of life loosely and finding the fun in moving forward, however that may be.
Maybe you're someone who gets excited about the new year and the energy helps you kick start that project you've been meaning to complete or the confidence you've needed to move forward. We are rooting for you either way.
Whether you're riddled with anxiety or hype about your next move a community to hold your hand or hold you accountable may be what you've been longing for year after year. It's something that many, if not all, retired athletes miss and don't realize how important it was.
