Keep it comfy. Make it chic!
As a former athlete and now a full-time mompreneur of two, comfort and practicality have my heart when it comes to fashion. However, I also grew up with a Vogue and Women’s Wear Daily subscription and never stopped reading fashion blogs. I LOVE a chic moment. Now that we’ve all emerged from the pandemic where we were cooped up in the house in sweats, or if you're an athlete trying to discover your style, the question is how do we merge athleisure and sweat suits in a more put-together way? I’ve compiled 5 athletic, comfy, chic outfit formulas that are sure to change the game.
Leggings/Bike shorts + Blazer + Sneakers
This has been my go-to being three months postpartum, and my jeans don’t fit quite like they used to. I’m typically running after my 2-year-old or coming from the gym. Throw on a blazer gives me the chic look I love without having to do too much.
Sweatshirt/sweater + Trousers + Sneakers
Baggy trousers are just as comfortable as sweatpants. Pair them with a basic top and a sweatshirt over the shoulders or with a hoodie and some sneakers to give an athletic take on smart fashion.
Tell me this isn’t just as comfy as a sweatsuit!!
Sweatshirt + Tennis Skirt
The sweatshirt and tennis skirt are comfy. Add a button-up, sweater, or blazer to the mix to give it that extra oomph.
Sweatpants + Heels
We love some juxtaposition, am I right? Let’s be honest: this whole list is juxtaposition at its finest, but sweatpants and heels take the cake. There’s something about the unexpected elevation with a casual fit that makes everyone double-take.
Any time we can take a note from the icon herself, we do!
Word on the street is that flared sweats are in. This pair from Nike are chef's kiss
Hooded Sweatsuit + Long Structured Coat + Sneakers
I meeeaan... how comfy is this? Literally just a coat over some matching sweats and a quality bag.
